Bantuan Awal Persekolahan, as outlined by the Ministry of Education (KPM), aims to ease the financial burden for parents with multiple school-going dependents. The initiative, benefiting 5,254,200 pupils, will provide funds for school supplies.
Starting January 2024, each child will receive RM150 under the Early School Assistance or BAP program. The payments, totaling RM393.8 billion in Budget 2024, will be distributed through schools, either as cash or credited to student accounts. What is Bantuan Awal Persekolahan?
To alleviate the financial strain on parents or guardians during the school year’s start, Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (BAP), or Early School Assistance, was introduced in 2012. Initially available to students from Year 1 to Form 5, or their equivalents, this aid was extended to households with an annual income of RM3,000.00 or less.
