Why is there no 1 in a deck of cards?
‘Ace’ was originally used in rolling dice and a roll of 1 (aka an ‘ace’) was considered bad luck.
This is because it meant the side with only one mark, before being a term for playing cards.
Interestingly, when it comes to card games like poker where players get five cards each at random but choose which ones they want to keep or discard depending on how good their hand looks after that; most people would consider themselves lucky if they were dealt all Aces rather than something less valuable such as 2s or 3s due to its high rank value given by casinos/poker rooms etc…
That’s a good question.
Why isn’t there just one ace of spades? Or maybe it is an incomplete deck, with some cards missing at the end so they have to put random ones in there instead of being able count how many are left or anything like that

Did you know there are some decks which have an extra card? That’s right! The Joker was invented for games like poker where it can be used as either the highest or lowest valued playing card in any hand, but people also use him on his own – just taking up space in your pocket so he won’t get lost when shuffling (no pressure).
There’s something captivating about shuffleboard; we play at least once every winter because I cannot resist how quickly and easily one game turns into another without much effort required from me other than pride over my ability lucked out this time around by getting dealt five spades instead four hearts last night during our next
