Catch Up Payments Ontario 2024
To support families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ontario government has introduced the Catch Up Payment program. Eligible parents or guardians with children in kindergarten through grade 12 for the 2022–2023 school year can receive a direct payment of $200 or $250 per child. This additional financial aid aims to assist in covering expenses related to helping children catch up on missed schoolwork during the outbreak.
It’s important to note that the Catch Up Payment is in addition to other pandemic-related benefits provided by the Ontario government, such as the COVID-19 Child Benefit, Support for Learners program, and Support for Families program. To apply, visit Ontario.ca and complete the online application process by March 31, 2023, before 11:59 p.m.
To qualify for the Catch Up Payment program, children must be enrolled in a publicly funded school, private school, First Nation-run school, federal government-run school, or be homeschooled. Parents can apply for $200 payments per child up to the age of 18. For children with special education requirements, the payment is increased to $250, and they can qualify up to the age of 21.
