In the game of Draughts, it can be a little confusing which colour moves first.

When playing draughts, the player with black pieces makes their move first.
When you switch turns in a game of draughts, make sure to change colors as well! A draught can only be moved diagonally one
square at a time and cannot go backwards or jump over other pieces.
Who moves first in Draughts?
The game of Draughts (or checkers) is played by two players, on opposite sides of a playing board,
alternating moves.
One player has dark pieces and the other has light pieces which are against the rules for one to move their opponent’s piece unless stated otherwise.
The player with lighter color makes first move unless specified beforehand as they have advantage in this scenario because it can be easily seen where each colored piece was placed last turn giving them an insight about what might happen next resulting in better strategic planning approaches by taking into account possible opportunities or threats
presented during that time frame before moving again.
The first player in Draughts must move their marble.
They do this by taking it off the board and placing one down, unless there are rules stating otherwise (e.g., you can’t start with your king).

Capture: A capture can only occur when a single opponent’s pawn occupies one or more consecutive squares (a “chain”) on an adjacent file; thus, if there are any empty squares between them, they will always form part of the
capturing chain and must all be occupied by captures before you can take it.
A chess rule states that pieces may not pass diagonally past each other without jumping over at least one square in-between them to end their movement.
